While raiders might form the bulk of a Nord ‘expedition’, a wise Jarl will always look to secure the services of his Huskarls for a raid before even considering the enterprise. These men are the survivors of a dozen raids, wealthy enough to no longer need to work the fields and instead devote themselves to the pursuit of war exclusively. Armed and armored with the loot and rewards of a dozen raids, Huskarls are the solid backbone around which a raid is organized. Disciplined and experienced these are the men who can be counted on to march through withering fire and hack down the door of a walled settlement or face the fury of a cavalry charge without flinching. While their banter and camaraderie is a far cry from the disciplined behavior of the Imperial Legions or the Household Guard, Huskarls are every bit as dangerous and professional an opponent as one can find on the field of battle.
