Upon reaching adolescence after eight years – a result of another ruthless calculation of their Spire creators who wanted battle ready subjects as quickly as possible – all W’adrhŭn take part in the Trials, a series of grueling physical and martial contests that determine one’s future within the tribe. Those who excel and pass the trials move on to become Braves, a traditional name given to a young warrior. They have yet to prove themselves, so their equipment is basic and defensive in nature and they are often relegated to secondary positions within the battlefield.
