Greetings fellow Warlords!
It is that time again for another First Blood Update. Packed with new clarifications, a few Regiment reworks, and many points changes to entice many new options to build your Warbands.
“Well it is finally here, now that the new First Blood has been in your (the players) hands for a few months we are finally starting to see where things lie. This is First Blood’s first ‘balance’ patch, where we are trying to open up more gameplay opportunities-not just in list building but on the battlefield as well. Press Forward exemplifies this, now being easier to benefit your troops removes some unnecessary activation layering/fussy measuring. Warriors can now Reposition away from Broken! Enemies freely, after all- you should be rewarded for trapping enemies, not punished!
When it comes to Army Lists, we like to take these updates as a time to reassess any less popular options. We adhere strongly to a feeling-first approach, if a Warrior or Faction is as cool to play as their lore suggests; that is a success! Sometimes it is as simple as a points-problem, but sometimes it is a matter of excitement or interest; which is why you will see profiles being reworked. Points help sway what hits your table, but mean nothing once the battle begins. Many Command Options and additional Warrior costs have been reconsidered and reduced, let those banners fly high!
As far as inter-faction relations go, we are quite happy with the majority- but there are a few that needed a bump up. 100k got a buff to their Honored Heraldry Army Rule, now passing the banner off within 3” rather than 1”. Nords gained a brand new Reckless Charge Rule, granting your Warriors Impact+1 when performing a subsequent March Action…to Glory! The Dweghom are receiving a bit of a reworked army passive-retaining their stubborn nature but now participate in Outnumbering the Enemy even while Broken and can even become Inspired when Combat Rallying.
The Weaver Courts see a big Quality of Life improvement, now any Warrior can plant seeds from slaying an enemy-not just from your Characters. However, not more than once per Command Card Activation! The Sorcerer Kings find themselves to be amongst the most dominant forces in First Blood, the Confluence generation of the Marid Apsara has been reigned in and some warranted points increased on some elemental regiments.
No matter your Faction, there is something new to experiment with!” – Jacob
Coming soon along with the update, each and every army will be receiving a new Warband
of Legend along with a new Legendary Character with the release of their Clash! Box.
Not sure what Clash! is?
