I am Leo your Conquest Community Manager presenting David’s “Don’t go into the long grass!”

David, first of all I love the Jurassic Park reference and it’s just so fitting with the Hunting Packs running around! Want to tell us a few words about your list?
My list incorporates a high quantity of lights that are not concerned about hindering/cover terrain. Don’t sleep on the built in flank, abundance of fluid formation, and exceptional movement profiles, as everything comes in quickly, moving into place for the Matriarch’s supremacy (DOUBLE ACTIVATION). At TWELVE activations at its peak this list generally ties for Initiative advantage or, in some situations, takes advantage, which allows for a high stakes supremacy Double Activation that can punish any faction. Spell Casting is not our friend here and can be painful, but we have a little bit of healing and the potential for high evasion….it’s a dice game after all.
Love it! It’s something about W’adhrun that lends itself so well to fast paced, aggressive gameplay and seeing lists like that in the World Finals is just so exciting! How did you get involved with the game?
I have been playing Conquest for 2 years (Wadrhun and Sorcerer Kings). My introduction to the community is definitely the reason I have stayed with the game. Having met the Parabellum staff at their Game Demo in San Francisco, and the backdrop of local players battling out a Conquest Tournament, I was quickly immersed into both the community and the game. They tried to hand me 100 Kingdom Models but I immediately switched them to Wadrhun….naturally.
That is great to hear and we are grateful to have such dedicated players in our Community! Mateusz and Pawel, as Designers and Judges for this year’s event, what do you think of the list?
The goal of this Wadrhun list is to use a high number of Light Regiments to close the opponent in the deployment zone and force suboptimal choices. Once the Matriarch Queen joins the party she can use the activated part of supremacy to force even more pressure. Apex Predator and Thunder Riders will likely fight what’s left on the battlefield. We are very curious what David figured out against most pressure resistant lists brought into the competition and are very excited to see if that will be enough to seize the Crown of the World Champion.
