First Blood – Hundred Kingdoms Faction Spotlight

Scattered across the lands of Eä the Hundred Kingdoms form one of the most formidable bastions of humanity. Although fractured into Imperial Remnants, Houses of Nobility, Theist Church, and the Orders; under the correct leadership or a unifying external threat, the combined arms of the Hundred Kingdoms can be brought together onto the battlefield.

Warriors of the Hundred Kingdoms are drawn from either Imperial, Theist, Orders, or Feudal backgrounds. The former 3 are relatively exclusionary to their own in terms of direct synergies, whereas Feudal Warriors form the reliable backbone of your Warband. However, when Mustering your Warband, you may choose either the Imperial, Theist, or Orders Battlefield Roles for all your Feudal Warriors to gain as part of their Dynastic Alliance Army Rule. Allowing your Feudal Warriors to both purchase Upgrades and benefit from the Command Abilities of Characters of the chosen Role.

Dynastic Alliance: When Mustering your Warband, choose one of the Following

Battlefield Roles: [Orders], [Imperial], or [Theist]. All [Feudal] Warriors gain the chosen Battlefield Role.

Characters of the Hundred Kingdoms are able to perform Command Abilities as Actions during their Activation through their Strength of Men Army Rule, to either call a desperate Rallying Cry or to further press the advantage on their foes with their own Unique Command Abilities. Warriors of the Hundred Kingdoms can even recover Slain Friendly Standard Bearers of their Regiment as part of the Honored Heraldry Army Rule. Flexible and determined, the Warriors of the Hundred Kingdoms provide excellent opportunity and expression for both the novice and veteran general alike.

Honored Heraldry: Whenever a Friendly Standard Bearer is Slain, you may replace

another Warrior within 1” from the same Regiment with the Standard Bearer. A Leader cannot be replaced by this Special Rule.

The 3 subfactions of the Hundred Kingdoms each are distinct in their fighting styles and role on the battlefield.

Theist Warbands outlast their Enemies with sheer righteous conviction while being bolstered onwards by Theist Priests, Neophytes, and are driven to even further heights of faith through the Archangel’s Divine Purpose Special Rule.

Divine Purpose: Friendly [Theist] Warriors within Command Range gain the Dauntless Special Rule.

Warriors of the Orders defeat the more numerous enemies of the Hundred Kingdoms through the impact of their Charges. What foes that survive their charge must then face the martial prowess of the mightiest champions of the Orders such as the Priory Commander and their Special Rule Honor thy Order.

Honor thy Order: While participating in a Duel, this [Character] gains +1 Clash.

Finally, Imperial forces are the most organized and disciplined across the Hundred Kingdoms. Achieving victory through calculated losses, measured orders, and tight-knit regimental combat. Imperial Commanders are peerless strategists and disciplinarians, able to whip even the most broken of battlelines into an effective fighting formation such as the Drillmaster’s Double Time Unique Action.

Double Time: (Out of Combat Action) Friendly [Imperial] Warriors within Command Range may immediately Move up to half of their March Characteristic. (rounding up)

Along with the debut of the new First Blood, Warbands of the Hundred Kingdoms can now utilise the ranged might of the Trebuchet. The Trebuchet serves the Imperial war effort by exerting control over the Battlefield through a choice of 3 payloads of either Stone, Fire Pots, or Explosives. The Trebuchet is unmatched in its ability to control the Battlefield by either dissuading the Enemy from key locations or to flush out Enemy fortified positions. However such impact can only be done from a comfortable distance; beware enemy saboteurs! The Trebuchet’s efficacy is weakened by dispatching its crew.

The entire Para Bellum team is hoping you are all enjoying the release of First Blood as much as we are. We will see you all here again next week for another First Blood faction focus. Until then, care for any falling rocks!
