Whether to portray status, declare ones loyalty or simply keep one wamr through the harsh winters of Manheim, cloth is an important piece of clothing between soldiers and nobles alike.
In this tutorial we will discuss in detail how to paint cloth in a fast and effective way to quickly bring your troops to the battlefield while looking impressive!
Today we will be using colors from the Vallejo Game Color range however, we will also be releasing the same guide using other color ranges as well!
Preparation: Start by basecoating the surface with Vallejo Game Color Black. You may do so with an airbrush or by brush. Either way, make sure to apply multiple thin coats.
Step 1: We start the cloth by applying thin layers of VGC Royal Purple. It is very important at this step to take your time and apply multiple thin coats. Make sure that the paint has dried completely before you apply your next coat.
Step 2: Once we have built up our Royal Purple nice and opaque, we continue by applying a layer of VGC Black Wash and let it dry. This may take a couple of minutes. Once again make sure that the wash has dried completely even in the deepest recesses.
Step 3: Once the Black Wash has set we can start highlighting with the base color, Royal Purple, leaving the wash visible in the recesses.
