I am Leo your Conquest Community Manager presenting Nick’s “Double poly bros!”.

Nick welcome to our little corner of the world! Tell us about you and your list!

My name is Nicholas Haskell, and I’ll be bringing my Double Poly Bros City States to Chios.

When I first started getting into Conquest, I asked my girlfriend which faction she thought I should play. She chose City States because she loved the aesthetic and because she is Hellenic. It ended up being a pretty easy choice from there!

I’ll be running the Polemarch as my warlord, which I know is a bit of a “surprise.” I’m hoping to take advantage of his ability to guarantee that I go first when I need it most and use that to control the flow of the game.

That’s an awesome list, big block of Phalangites supported by Chariots and a mighty Talos – it can’t get more City States! How did you start playing Conquest? What caught your attention?

I’ve been playing Conquest since September of last year, so I’ll have been playing for about a year when the Chios event starts.

What caught my attention the most about Conquest was the alternate activations and the way they force you to make decisions throughout the turn. I love having to think about which unit I want to activate, what my opponent might do next, and how that changes the way I need to play out the rest of my turn.

That constant decision-making is probably what keeps me coming back to the game.

Wow, I mean within a year getting to the World’s Finals is a big deal! Congratulations! The battles are going to be fierce and we can’t wait to see you piloting this awesome list! Pawel and Mateusz what do you think about the list?

Two Polemarchs are nothing to laugh at. While this list relies on the Polemarch Warlord to seize that supremacy when necessary it is also early pressure oriented. Two Thorakites with Thyrean Auxiliary might not close an opponent in the deployment zone, but it will surely destroy most things on its way. Supported by Chariots and Talos it might outwait the enemy if necessary and strike when opening is found. Nick created a very versatile list worth of Army of Lions, but will its roar be enough to take the Crown of the World Champion back to the City States?
