Chios List Spotlight – Arkadiusz Tarkiewicz

I am Leo your Conquest Community Manager presenting Arkadiusz’s “In memory of the lost power, in honor to still believers.“

Arkadiusz, it is such a pleasure to see you again in Chios! This is your 3rd time participating in the World Finals and we are always excited to see your Old Dominion be piloted so expertly! What do you have for us this year?
 
In the current meta, it’s crucial to have multiple activations, which allows you to choose the timing of the encounter. Similarly, having multiple units of the same type allows you to activate the right one in the right place. But the main driving force of this army is the ability to have tier 2 on round 3 with two strong heavy units on the table thanks to flanking. Combined with the lack of brittle and blessed supremacy for Fallen Pantheon units and Varangians too, this army has the tools to strike hard and gain an advantage from round 3.
 
We are really excited to see how it does! Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you get started with Conquest?
 
Conquest caught my attention over five years ago thanks to its undead Roman models, alternating activation mechanics, and unique rules for deploying units onto the battlefield. Over the following years, I stubbornly beat only Old Dominion, which allowed me to qualify for Chios for the third time in a row. Despite the faction’s mediocre meta position, I want to fight for the top spot before saying goodbye, so keep your fingers crossed.
 
Pawel and Mateusz, apart from Judges in the event you are no strangers to Chios’ level of play, what do you think of the list?
 

The Polish Chios Veteran did not disappoint us with his list idea. Hierodeacon Warlord gives us the vibe of previous Xillarch Supremacy, but instead of 3rd action per warband we have global Blessed. This Army gathers Dark Power spectacularly fast in addition to being surprisingly fast for a bunch of zombies and skeletons. We believe that Arkadiusz’s core idea is to use Centaurs to catch and pin down most threatening targets, use Theokrator as an anvil and Varangian Guard as a Hammer, but with Axes. Would it be enough to cut through his competition for the Crown of the World Champion? Only Hazalia knows!
